| General Information Faculty of Philosophy works from the very foundation of Moscow University in
1755. It has always been a centre of progressive philosophical ideas in Russia.
The outstanding Russian philosophers, such as A.I.Vvedensky, M.M.Troyitsky,
V.S.Soloviev, delivered lectures at the Faculty. The best traditions of Russian
Philosophy are being preserved by professors and associate professors of the
Faculty and became the basis of tuition of philosophers nowadays.
The branch of the Marxist Philosophy that suppressed all other philosophical
theories during the soviet period went into the past. At present all modern and
classic philosophical ideas are open for studying and discussion.
To ensure close connections with advanced scientific thoughts all opportunities
are used to draw the best scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences to work
with the Faculty. Foreign professors from the world leading universities
regularly lecture at the Faculty.
